2025 OUTDOOR LANTERIAN ENCOUNTER

The 2025 edition of the Seminary co-curriculum function, Lanterian Ecounter, was held onTuesday, May 13th, 2025, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Asipa. The theme for the day, "The Role of Mary, Mother of Hope, in Our Christian Journey," sets the tone for a day of profound contemplation and spiritual enrichment.

The event began at 3:00 p.m. with tthe recitation of the Holy Rosary, a continuation of the beautiful tradition of May Devotions honouring the Blessed Virgin Mary. Soon after, the vvoices the participants united in hymns dedicated to Mary, acknowledging her as the Mother of God and a radiant symbol of hope for all Christians.

The wisdom and insights of the speaker, Rev. Fr. Anthony Okonkwo, SDB, formed the heart of the Encounter. His compelling presentation thoughtfully unpacked the four Marian dogmas, enriching our understanding with relatable examples that vividly illustrated Mary's role as both the Mother and the inspiring model of hope on our Christian path. The subsequent session of questions and shared reflections fostered a deeper connection among attendees, culminating in the profound celebration of the Holy Mass.

The seminary community offers their sincere appreciation to the warm and generous community of St. Anthony's Catholic Parish, Asipa, to their dedicated Parish Priest Rev. Fr Benjamin Unachukwu,OMV, resident Priest Rev. Fr Isaac Abu,OMV, and all the parishioners for graciously opening their doors to host this year's Lanterian Encounter. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the Congregation and the formation team for their invaluable contribution in making this year's Encounter such a deeply enriching and truly inspiring occasion.
