The 9th of September 2017 was a special and memorable day in St.  Mary’s  Catholic Church, Lugbe, Abuja,  a parish served by the Priests of the Congregation of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary, as they celebrated their 2017 Cultural Day. The celebration which started with the Holy Mass at about 9:00am was presided over by a visiting priest from Archdiocese of Benin, Very Rev. Fr Ben. Brodrick, while Frs Paul Ubebe, OMV, Jeremiah Irabor, OMV and Oviemuno Obi, OMV concelebrated the Mass. It was indeed a colourful celebration as the Priests and Parishioners wore their various cultural attires depicting their cultural heritage and origin. The various cultural groups in the Church made thanksgiving to God as some donations were equally made for the growth and the development of the church.

The Directorate of Communications gathered that they equally used the cultural day celebration to celebrate the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It was actually a great and memorable one for both the Priests and Parishioners of Parish.
