A historical event was made in Suleja, Nigeria on the 9th of November, 2017, as the newly elected Delegate Superior, Very Rev. Fr Paul Ubebe, OMV took the oath of office. The ceremony which took place during the Holy Mass presided over by the "Delegate Emeritus", Very Rev. Fr John Idio, OMV in the presence of all the Delegation Counsellors had some of the Oblate's priests from the nearby communities in attendance. In his homily, Fr John reflected on the readings of the Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica and applied it to our present life. Speaking further on the image of the temple, Fr John encouraged all to live a life of holiness without neglecting the virtue of simplicity. Before ending his homily, Fr Idio emphasized the importance of the oath of office taken by the new Delegate Superior and invited all Oblates to not just praying but also collaborating with the new delegate superior to build and move the delegation forward.
