About the AOMV
The Association of the Families, Friends and Collaborators of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary, also known as The Associate Oblates of the Virgin Mary (AOMV), initiated in 2007, was formally founded in 2008 by Fr. Oseni J. Ogunu, OMV. The AOMV is an organization of Christ’s lay faithful associated and co-responsible with the Congregation of the OMV, each according to its own vocation and state of life, for the advancement of the Church’s evangelizing mission in Nigeria, and inspired by the Oblate spirituality, mission and charism. They promote the mission by organising prayers for the OMV priests; training of Oblate seminarians; assisting in the development of the OMV in Nigeria.
It will interest you to know also that being part of us, Oblate priests offer Masses for them and their intentions frequently, organize retreats to advance their spiritual growth and identify with them during various celebrations!
Be part of our noble family today!

FEBRUARY
Mariam Cogita, Mariam Invoca!
Dear Friends of the Oblates we welcome you all back from the long rest in the month of January. Our monthly meetings are set to kick off this month and we are glad to inform you that Ibadan Zone, under the leadership of Mr. Femi held their meeting on the first Wednesday of the month (6th). It was a success and thanks to the executive and especially the OMV priests, Frs John and Xavier. Also the Associates of the sub-zone Ekpan had theirs on the 21st of February at St. Ambrose Ekpan. Not too many members turned up due to the uneasy peace caused by the elections. In Abuja, the Associates at Wuse had their meeting on the 22nf of the month, after which a condolence visit was made to those that lost their loved ones. Our group at Lugbe will be having their meetings on Saturday 2nd of March; We wish them success!
With heaviness in our hearts, we announce the glorious exit of two dedicated members of the Associates: Mrs. Dora Atumu and Mrs.Ehi-Ebewele. They passed on this month. We thank Fr. George for his attendance at the burial ceremony of Lady Dora. We await the burial arrangements of Mrs. Elizabeth. May they rest in Christ’s peace.
We remember to offer prayers for our intentions for the month of February: Grace and blessings upon the OMV Superiors and children and grand-children of the AOMV.
